Updating Countdown

The Countdown Hide and Seek toy is fully updatable with new games, modes of play, sounds and graphic updates being released regularly. Updating your hide and seek toy will also be necessary to apply any add-ons you purchase.

Updating takes just a few minutes and will make sure your play is as awesome as possible.

What You'll Need to Update "The Countdown Game"

1. The Countdown Game, with batteries! Yup, seems obvious, but definitely required.
2. A USB Micro cable. This is the most common USB cable of the last 7 years. If you do not have one, we'd recommend this one from Amazon.
3. A Windows 7/8/10 PC or Mac OS Computer
4. An account on this site. Don't have one? Create one now.

Steps To Update Countdown

We've tried to make the update possible as easy as possible. If you have any feedback on how to improve the process or about issues you run into, please get in touch!

Step 1: Download & Install the Countdown App on your Computer

Click on the Windows or Mac icon below to download the installer application. Once downloaded, double-click on it and follow the steps to install.

Windows Users: You may see a screen like below. If you do, click "Run Anyway". 

Mac Users: You may see a screen like below. If you do, click "Open". 

Step 2: Open The Countdown App and Log In

When you first open the Countdown App, you'll see a screen like below. Enter your email address and password to this site to authenticate. 

 

Once you've logged in, you should see a screen like below indicating that Countdown is not found.

 

Step 3: Connect The Countdown Game To Your Computer via USB Cable

Gently open the rubber cover over the USB port on the left side of Countdown. Connect a Micro USB between a free USB port on your computer and Countdown.

 

Step 4: Turn on Countdown

When you turn on Countdown, the screen should update with details about your Countdown toy. It will look similar to: 

Step 5: Apply Updates

If any updates are found, a large Update button will show. Simply click that button and all available updates will be applied. Depending on the size of the updates, the process may take anywhere from a few seconds to 5 or so minutes. You will see a progress bar at the bottom of the app screen that looks similar to: 

Please Note: Some updates may restart the Countdown. You may see the app screen show "Countdown not found" again before the device is restarted.
