• Punta Gorda, FL startup wins with their prototype hide & seek toy, Countdown

PUNTA GORDA, FLA - The Outdoor Toy Awards has announced that Pressure Games’ prototype toy, Countdown, won in the Outdoor Sports category. The annual Outdoor Toy Awards are held in London and judged by a group over 50 children, aged 5-14. Countdown is a hi-tech game of hide and seek designed for multiplayer excitement, targeting children ages 3-10. Pressure Games plans for Countdown to be available later this year.

The annual Outdoor Toy Awards is an international competition among major and minor brands. “Thanks to the kids for taking their tasks so seriously and the parents who attended for discussing – at length – their favourites and the reasons behind their choices – some superb insight was gained,” said Peter Jenkinson, founder of the awards.

Founded in late 2018, Pressure Games is developing a new generation of toys that combine classic playground games with light-touch technology. The end-result is toys that deliver new challenges and excitement to encourage healthy social and developmental skills for children.

Pressure Games CEO Alex Andreae was effusive when discussing the results, “We couldn’t be more proud about this award. It affirms all the work that our small team has put into our first toy over the last 6 months and generated a real excitement for our launch later this year.”

Final development of Countdown is ongoing. Pressure Games will be launching a crowdfunding campaign later this summer to raise further funding to commence the first full production run. The crowdfunding campaign will be for pre-sales of units at a discount to the actual MSRP price upon release.

Pressure Games was founded in 2018 with a belief that active, social and imaginative play is instrumental to childhood development. Its toys are focused on merging classic playground games with a little technology to create modern toys to engage with the electronic generation of today.
